Blogger and I are having a fight

…And I think blogger is winning!  It doesn’t want anyone to see my new posts in their blog list…  Hmmmm…..so here is another attempt…....

New Post

For some reason my new posts aren't showing up in the news feed, so I made this new post so you will go look.
Thanks,

His new Obsession… Shoes!

HPIM2169

This morning he emptied all of the shoes out of my closet by bringing them to me one by one.  Then when he was done I sat by the closet and he brought them all back.  Here he is trying to put his dad’s shoe on.

Actually, I think his obsession is to empty things out…

Cousins at the Zoo!

On Thursday we went to the zoo with my sisters.  It was a beautiful day!  We watched an elephant show complete with getting sprayed by water from the Momma elephant.  As you can see, we had a lot of fun.

First Camping Trip was a Hit!

Last weekend we took Joshua camping for the first time to the Johnson family reunion.  It was a great campsite, complete with a sand volleyball pit which kept the kids entertained for hours.

He’s ready to help Robbie with the dutch oven cooking!

He slept very well snuggled up with Mom and Dad.

Here he is playing in the sand with his cousins.

Can You Believe its Already Been Two Years?

Yesterday Andrew and I celebrated our anniversary. Two years!  It’s definitely been a fun adventure being married to such a wonderful man.  I love our life together and know that I am truly blessed.  So here are a few pictures down memory lane.

The Lifecycle of a Highchair

Last fall we bought this highchair for Joshua.  The cover was worn but in decent condition until I washed it and the batting melted a bit in the dryer.

HPIM2122

So I made a new cover out of vinyl tablecloth material.  It seemed like a great idea at the time, easy to wipe up the food crumbs…

HPIM2121

But it just didn’t hold up well, it got pretty ragged and torn from the abuse of my little guy getting in and out…

HPIM2120

So here we are with a NEW cover, (third time’s the charm right?)  I love the colors, and the piecing was simple and went together quickly.

HPIM2123

…AND… I got to quilt it with the walking foot on my new sewing machine!

My New Sewing Machine!

I’ve had this old sewing machine for years.  My parents bought it right after they were married.  Although it still works, I decided its time for a little upgrade.

HPIM2127

This one can do freestyle quilting and has a lot more stitching options.

HPIM2126

I used the freestyle stitch to embroider names on a project I’ve been making.

My parents have had a mail chart at their house for over ten years but when I tried to take it apart to add Andrew’s name the plastic was so old it started to crack.  The new one I made entirely out of fabric so I won’t have that problem again.  It was fun to play with freestyle stitching!

That Horse Bit My Bike!

Joshua and I went for a lovely bike ride this morning.  I love that there are plenty of small farms nearby that we can almost always find some animals to watch.  Today we stopped to see some horses.  I think these horses are used to people stopping by and feeding them because they rushed right over to us.  We didn’t have anything to feed them though.  The bigger of the two horses kept nudging the fence next to my bike handle until the handle slipped through the fence and he started to nibble on it.

Family Pictures…

A few months ago I went to the fabric store to buy some plaid material for a shirt for Joshua.  I also found some fabric to make me a new dress.  When I got home I realized that both pieces of fabric had a similar color scheme, which blossomed into the idea of getting some family pictures taken.  I love how his little shirt turned out! We went to Wheeler Farm this week with Collin and Jessica who took some great pictures for us.  Thanks guys!

A Stuffed Giraffe…

I had a sewing day with my sister yesterday.  I recently bought a bunch of stuffed animal patterns and decided to get started on my latest project ideas.  I just have to say I LOVE how this little guy turned out.  Now he needs a name, and suggestions?

Andrew made a slide/ramp out of the folding table and Joshua had fun climbing up and sliding down.
