Merry Christmas!

The day after Christmas is always a bit surreal to me.  There is so much excitement and anticipation all month long and then suddenly Christmas has passed and life goes on.  We had a wonderful Christmas spent with lots of family and our two beautiful children that made the moments magical.

Aubrey’s new car was a big hit with all the kids.

Here is the house they promised us for Christmas, we shoveled out the upstairs to help dry things out before they come to work on it again.

Joshua got lots of Legos and tools, including a drill from Grandpa.

Olivia got lots of things to slobber on… She is quite happy with her Christmas.

Polar Bear 5K Fun Run

 

I ran my first official 5K this morning.  They had a stretch of Mountain View corridor opening up today, and to kick it off there was a fun run.  I was a little worried when we woke up to 7 inches of snow, but there wasn’t quite that much on the west side.

It was snowing a little as we ran but they were passing out beanies and hand warmers at the beginning of the run and it really wasn’t too bad at all.  I think it was probably the best plowed stretch of road in the valley.

I actually thought the whole thing was quite fun, and I finished quicker than I thought I would, 31:05.

FINALLY!!!

Last week when they told us they were digging, we just saw this… moving the pile of dirt.

But now we finally have a hole! Unfortunately, because of the holiday we won’t be getting anything else for a week but at least it has finally begun!

Snowy Day…

It has been snowing all morning and it is still coming down.  Joshua loved walking in the snow and making tracks.  Olivia loved watching it fall.

Isn’t that face awesome?

We even made a snowman.

Now we’ve come inside to warm up, but I had to promise Joshua we would go out again.  Isn’t it fun to play in the snow?

On a Side Note: 
This morning Olivia was crying, trying to fall asleep in her playpen when she suddenly got very quiet.  I went in to check on her and Joshua was standing next to her quietly singing "Rock-a-Bye Baby"  I just thought it was the sweetest thing. 

Things I Forgot to Blog About…

Look Who’s Sitting Up!

Olivia has started to sit up.  It usually only lasts a few seconds before she tips over but today she had some really good attempts.

Pajama Swap…

So the other night when I suggested this I was just being silly, trying to convince Joshua to get ready for bed…

But he thought it was hilarious and wanted to wear Olivia’s pajamas…I ran and grabbed a different pair of hers that had snaps on the legs so I could just leave a few undone.  He even let her wear his Buzz Lightyear pajamas!

In the end, He decided she needed to take Buzz Lightyear off but he was perfectly content to keep wearing her pink flower pajamas.

Don’t worry Joshua, I’ll make sure these pictures resurface when you are a teenager!

Houses

Our lives have been a bit consumed over the last month or so of looking at houses and house plans with builders.  I am super excited for the prospect of moving to a bigger house with more places for storage.  This week our house went on the market.  Here are some pictures that were taken for the listing. 

The thing is, I look at these pictures and think, we really have a great house.  Apparently we are not the only ones that think so, we had four offers over the last two days.  Its sad to think of leaving this house with so many memories, but then I think about our new house and get excited all over again.

Going for a Walk…

I love taking the kids for a walk in the stroller, we do it almost everyday. And I love that the weather has started to cool down so we don’t have to limit our walks to early morning anymore.  Before Olivia was born, we bought a double stroller so we could keep going for walks, but lately Joshua prefers this method of travel…

Four Months Old!

Can believe this little sweetie pie is already 4 months old? And at the same time, it seems like she has been a part of our lives forever.  We sure do love her.

Summer has Come and Gone…

We’ve done so many fun things this summer, I just haven’t taken the time to stop and share, so here is a quick synopses of some of our family summer adventures!
