Comparing Pregnant Bellies…

I’m not sure what it is, but I really don’t feel as big this time around.

But here I am at 40 weeks with Joshua, measuring 49 inches around, and here I am at 39 weeks with baby girl, measuring 49 inches around!  Maybe I’m carrying her differently, or maybe it’s not such a shocker because I’ve already been huge before… Either way, can’t wait ‘till baby girl gets here!

And I think this little guy is excited too!

Let’s Get Cookin’…

In anticipation of life getting busy sometime in the very near future I’m trying to get ahead anywhere I can right now.  I don’t have a lot of motivation to cook up a fancy meal most nights, but I don’t want to rely on processed stuff so I decided to make up a bunch of freezer crockpot meals.  I used the list that Melissa has on The Test Kitchen of Melissa Fallis because she already had the shopping list put together for everything and it just seemed the easy way to go.  I shopped for the ingredients

It took about an hour to chop up all the veggies.  Joshua was such a rock star to let me get so much done while he listened to music and read books.  Then I stopped to eat lunch with this handsome face.

I thought I took some pictures along the way, but apparently not… During nap time I got all the meat cup up and put in and now I have meals ready to throw in the crockpot for those days when I am too busy to cook, or just don’t feel like cooking.

What a Cute Kid!

There are a few little farms in the neighborhood that are close enough to walk to and Joshua just loves the animals so we try to visit them frequently.  Today the field that usually has sheep and chickens had some goats, and this adorable kid hung out next to Joshua at the fence the whole time we were there.  We tore off some weeds that it was trying to eat through the fence and helped him out.  I was a little concerned about Joshua’s fingers a few times, but he managed to not get bitten.  I love the picture of him smiling at me, but he can't take his eyes off of the goat!

We just sat there on the side of 7800 S. with cars whizzing by enjoying the cute animals.
When it was nap time I asked if he was going to sleep in his toddler bed or his big bed, he chose my bed.  And look, he’s actually sleeping!  Sure beats the battle we had on Monday that resulted in no nap at all.

Just in Case You Were Wondering

I just have no motivation to blog, I realize I haven't posted anything in 2 weeks so I thought I'd say hi.  My cute boy is currently in bed not sleeping and singing The Wheels on the Bus.  Even in the most frustrating moments, this little guy makes me laugh.  The other day when he was not sleeping, I told him to go get his shoes so we could take a walk, the next thing I know he is crawling down the hall wearing his shoes on his hands.  I am grateful for these little moments that help me change my attitude and remember how wonderful life is.

Easter Activities and Other Random Events of Our Week…

I tried to come up with some fun activities to keep Joshua busy during conference last weekend.  (Conference was amazing by the way and I’m looking forward to re-listening to the talks.)  Here is one of the activities that turned out great.  He dyed egg shells, (we had scrambled eggs for breakfast and so I just saved the shells to dye) crushed them up- Joshua’s favorite part- and then glued them onto a paper.  Super fun, super easy and super cheap, my kind of activity.

He tried tasting it, not very good…

Then we did some water coloring, I think he’s got some budding talent…

When we were at my parents house on Monday night, their neighbor’s granddaughter had rented a petting zoo to show up on their lawn as an April Fool’s Day joke.  It was sure a big hit for the neighborhood though.  Sorry all my pictures of Joshua are blurry but I only had my phone and he just ran from animal to animal.  He only sat on the camel for about 5 seconds so I didn’t have a chance to get a picture.

I’ll end with this picture Andrew got of him last night, he was sleeping with his head on  the bed and his feet on the floor, on his BACK! It looked terribly uncomfortable.  Unfortunately the red light before the flash was enough to make him flip over and we didn’t get a good shot.
