Today’s Craftiness: No Mess Painting

Step 1: Put blobs of paint in a ziplock bag and tape it to the window.

Step 2: Begin Smooshing. (Ours needed more paint so we added some more)

We made some handprints

And when he got bored with it, I played with it!

On a completely separate note, Joshua has been carrying these friends around the house with him the last few days.  I think it is absolutely adorable.

He even gave them a ride in his rocking chair.

More Toddler Fun from Pinterest…

Joshua and I have been having a lot of fun trying new activities I’ve found.  Today we tried this fun idea of playing with pipe cleaners and colanders.

After he pulled them out, he did try to put some back in.  Then he put them in an empty paper towel roll.  We are discovering a lot of fun things to do with items around the house.

Today’s Goal: Actually make something from Pinterest!

This quote makes me laugh, sometimes I feel like I spend my time looking for things to create, but never stop to create anything, just keep looking for ideas.  So today I picked this idea:  Bath paints made of shaving cream

Mine didn’t turn out quite this pretty, but it was still fun.

We didn’t put any water in the tub, we just let him paint, and then he had a bath after.

My Little Climber…

This morning I was working on some things in the living room when Joshua went down the hall.  I didn’t think anything of it, he plays all over the house and does just fine.  Then I heard clicking keys of a keyboard, which might not mean much, but I saw Andrew put the keyboard up high this morning.  I rushed to our room and what did I see?…

I happen to know the chair was also tucked in, but apparently that didn’t stop him.    Is it bad that I grabbed the camera first?

Needless to say, he’s doing his best to keep me busy.

A little Catch-Up…

I’ve had a bunch of blog ideas in my head, but time keeps going on and I don’t seem to get any of them written, so instead I’ll give you a conglomerate of all that’s been going on.

I finished up Joshua’s backpack and it is Oh-So-Cute!  I wasn’t sure I liked it at first.  I purposely put the head on at an angle so it looked like it was peering over his shoulder, but when I finished it just looked like it was sloppy and I couldn’t get the head on straight.  But it’s grown on me and I’m okay with it now.

 

I put a zipper in it so I can store a few things in it if we’re only going out for a bit

Heidi and Ovidu were here for a week and we had all sorts of adventures: the zoo, hiking to Donut Falls… I’m glad we got to spend time together before they headed home.

While everyone else hiked up the falls, Joshua and I threw rocks in the stream.  He had a blast!

My little squirt is very much into being independent and exploring and climbing.  He can now successfully get up onto kitchen chairs.  He thinks he’s such a big boy.

He put on his own hat so he could go outside to play.

He helps me out around the house, and he’s actually pretty good at sweeping.

Summer Reading…

I love that my little guy loves books.  He’s always bringing me books to read to him, or just sitting down and reading a book to himself.

We signed him up for the summer reading program at the library and he won a free book.  He picked this one about pets and he loves to read it. 

They also put his name in for a grand prize drawing and today they called us to say he won!  It was quite the prize!

Hooray for Joshua, I think we’ll all have fun with your new prize!
